How To Stay Hydrated
Summer means fun in the sun. It is one of the most awaited season by many.
Out in the sun with so many activities to choose from. Swimming and chilling by the beach, hiking, camping and many more. But in order to enjoy such activities, it is also important to pay attention to our body and making sure that we stay well hydrated.
Take note that our bodies contains about sixty (60) percent water and keeping our fluid intake up helps both our bodies and our brains.
Staying hydrated isn’t just good for our skin but also for our health. Basically, it boosts our overall energy.
Drink a lot. It is a human necessity. There is nothing better than consuming lots of water to keep yourself hydrated during the rest of the day.
An adult’s average daily water consumption should be eight (8) ounce glasses. On hot days or times when one is playing sports or doing strenuous activities, it is essential to drink more than the usual intake of water, this is in order to make up for the fluids lost.
Coconut water, which is normally easily available, is a good alternative to water. Drinking tender coconut water once or twice a day can be extremely beneficial to our body. But of course, avoid packaged coconut water as it may contain preservatives and artificial sweeteners.
Also, drinking fruit juices like lychee and watermelon, lime water and herbal tea are the easiest way to keep yourself hydrated during the summer season or hot days. These are loaded with minerals, calcium and antioxidants which are good for the body.
Drinking a lot is suggested but you have to consider avoiding drinking too much tea and coffee during hot season because these beverages contain caffeine that can leave you feeling dehydrated. Also, don't overeat fried or processed foods because they make you feel thirsty and also cause acidity.
