DIY Face Masks to Soothe Your Skin
With temperatures dipping, it can feel difficult to keep your skin refreshed and nourished after any sort of outdoor workout. To help counter this, I’m sharing some of my favorite DIY face masks! And the best part? You probably have a lot of the ingredients you need in your kitchen already!
Your face will smell sweet, and feel even sweeter with this crazy face mask! Simply mix together 1/2 a ripe banana, 1 tsp honey, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda together and apply on your face. Leave for 20 minutes, and then rinse with warm water. The honey is a natural humectant, meaning it locks in moisture, while the baking soda sloughs away dead skin. As for the banana? It provides a heavy dose of vitamins for your skin to soak up!
JK, you’re not just slathering guac on your face (but okay, how good does that sound?!). This face mask features 1/2 a ripe avocado, 1 tsp of plain yogurt, and 1 tsp honey. The avocado is super moisturizing and quells inflammation, while the yogurt give your skin a boost of probiotics.
Does it even get anymore soothing than gentle oats and chamomile?! I think not, which is why I’m putting this face mask on the list. Chamomile softens any redness, while oats, like honey, work as a natural humectant to lock in moisture.
Get in the holiday spirit with this bright orange face mask featuring carotene-rich pumpkin, a boost of vitamin E, and moisturizing honey. But don’t blame me if you want to lick it off!
If your skin is like, “HELP I’M ABOUT TO DIEEEE” level dry, then you need a full-on honey face mask. Combine together 2 tablespoons of pure honey with 1 tsp cinnamon, and a little squeeze of lemon juice (the lemon juice is added so that the honey can penetrate into your skin!). Let it sit on your face for a full 20 minutes before rinsing off.
Self-care is such a crucial component of any fitness regimen, and taking care of your skin is such a necessity for overall wellbeing. Let me know which masks you try! xx
