Self-Care Rituals To Keep You Motivated
Burn out is real, and it’s the. worst. ever. Whether you’ve just started working out or are a total gym rat, balancing your hard work with soft self care practices is crucial to keeping yourself going for the long game. Below I’ve rounded up some of my very favorite ways to take care of myself outside of the hustle and grind. Feeling good is just as (if not even more!) important as looking good. Don’t forget that!
Ahhhhh omg such a favorite of mine! Cryotherapy is where you expose your entire body to extreme cold for several minutes which soothes exhausted muscles, quells nerve irritation, and can even help treat dementia.
Instead of always getting a sugar-laden chai latte to go, consider practicing the sweet and slow ritual of brewing your very own chai. Not only will your kitchen smell like a dream, but taking the time to stir herbs into the boiling water and let them steep is its own sweet form of meditation. Consider using this chai tea recipe, it’s so good!
Also called “abhyanga,” step out of the bath or shower and take time to gently massage your body with oil. Move in the direction of your heart to activate your internal healing powers and help balance your energetic body.
Speaking of taking a bath… If letting yourself slip into the cozy abyss of a tub wasn’t enough already, consider adding a few drops of lavender essential oil directly into the bath to soothe tired muscles, release energetic tension, and make your skin smell like heaven.
How could I possible talk about self-care rituals without including meditating?! Even five minutes a day of sitting and existing with exactly where you’re at and following your breath is 100% transformative. I dare you to try it!
